Ski resort

In 1946, Arapahoe Basin opened to the public with a mid-mountain tow rope.It is the big ski resort. The Skiers would reach it by riding in an Army weapons carrier pulled by a four-wheel drive carrier. Chairlifts were finally installed in 1947 and were the first post-war chairs installed in the state. The A-frame lodge in the base area was also once a missile testing facility.A-Basin - as it's commonly known - has the highest skiable terrain and one of the longest seasons in North America. So far, many skiers will ski in this resort. They all wear the ski goggles and ski suits.
